“Ammiyya” (اللهجة العامية) refers to colloquial or spoken Arabic, as opposed to “Fus-ha” or Classical Arabic, which is used in formal settings, literature, and media. Colloquial Arabic can vary significantly across the Arab world, with distinct dialects spoken in countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Yemen, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. The Ammiyya dialect is the same as Levantine or Shami Arabic.

1. Intensive Levantine (Ammiyya) Arabic Program

3. Intensive Syrian (Ammiyya) Arabic Program
The Intensive Syrian Arabic Program at Arabic Global Academy offers a unique opportunity to learn the Syrian dialect through full-immersion study in Damascus. As one of the most widely spoken Arabic dialects, mastering Syrian Arabic provides access not only to Syria but to much of the Arabic-speaking world. 4. Arabic Ammiyya Courses in Germany
Arabic Ammiyya Courses in Germany: By choosing to study Arabic at the Excellence Center in Halle, Germany, students can explore the language and culture of a diverse Arabic diaspora. The Excellence Center is a unique place where German and Arabic languages and cultures converge. Many refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers live in Halle, creating a blend of cultures that demonstrates the utility of Arabic outside the Middle East and North Africa.
Our intensive Arabic language courses last from 1 to 13 weeks and are offered year-round (spring, summer, fall, and winter). In addition, the center’s intensive Arabic language courses cover a wide range of dialects, including Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), Classical Arabic, Palestinian Colloquial Arabic, Colloquial Levantine Arabic (Shami Arabic), as well as Ammiya Arabic. The Excellence Center also offers courses in each Arabic dialect at varying levels of difficulty. These include first-time learners, beginners, intermediate, and advanced classes.

Naturally, an important decision is the specific Arabic dialect you want to learn. Furthermore, Arabic Global Academy offers many dialects: Modern Standard Arabic, Classical Arabic, Colloquial Palestinian Arabic, all Levantine (Shami) Arabic dialects, and Ammiya Arabic.
Our Intensive Ammiyya Arabic classes at Arabic Global Academy cater to individuals seeking to learn, practice, or enhance their conversational Arabic skills with native speakers. Participants experience daily life in their chosen country, meet new people, travel through Palestinian and Israeli areas, and have a lot of fun at our schools. Typically, Ammiyya Arabic lessons are taught one-on-one or in small classes of two or three students, emphasizing efficient and student-focused language learning.
Moreover, each Arabic student can choose the dialect they wish to study. Additionally, the Center will provide all necessary books and learning materials. Participants can decide when they would like to start and end their Arabic programs. Most importantly, we are very flexible with starting dates and duration. You can join us at either school for a period of 1 week to 3 months.
Summer Ammiyya Arabic Programs
For students interested in studying over the summer, Arabic Global Academy offers intensive Ammiyya Arabic programs from June to August. These courses are ideal for those with a summer break or any individuals looking to study on an extended visit.

What is the Difference Between a Non-Intensive, Intensive, and Super-Intensive Course?
All Arabic courses are available in different intensities. The intensity of the Arabic course varies depending on the course level. The Ammiyya program intensity determines the frequency of classes, the level of immersion, and the amount of out-of-classroom coursework.
1. Non-Intensive Ammiyya Arabic Programs:
Most relaxed intensity available, meeting for a total of 12 lesson hours (45 minutes per lesson hour) per week, ~ about 3 hours of Arabic courses a day for 3 days a week. This intensity is designed to give students plenty of in-classroom immersion while also providing plenty of time to explore their host city! We recommend that students interested in a long-term program (anywhere from 1 to 3 months) enroll in a non-intensive Arabic course.
2. Intensive Ammiyya Arabic Programs:
Designed to further immerse students in the Arabic language and culture. These courses consist of 20 lesson hours a week, with about 4 teaching hours of Arabic language instruction per day, 5 days a week. Intensive Arabic courses will have additional homework and out-of-classroom assignments.
3. Super-Intensive Ammiyya Arabic Programs:
Designed for students who want a completely immersive, high-intensity classroom-oriented experience. Courses will include 30 lesson hours of language instruction per week, with 5 hours per day, 5 days a week. We recommend Super-Intensive courses for those enrolled in shorter programs (1–4 weeks) due to the intensive course load.
